Autobiographical colour

I looked at different ways colour can be used to express storytelling. We had to bring in 10 objects that had a significant meaning to us. I did this because the object of the colour workshop was to understand we print in CMYK and design digitally in RGB.

A key element we learned about was the modular grid, it’s flexibility and continuity. A grid helps the designer to produce a decent layout. We went back to look at the difficulty in visual communication, it is hard for the reader to create a clear layout and direct the reader to what they are looking for with too many fonts and colours.

During this workshop I was introduced to Adobe Capture CC. This is a quick and easy way to extract colour swatches from images. I enjoyed this workshop because it introduced me to mobile software that will be crucial as the course progresses.
