Owning an Apple item is now a symbol of fashion. Once, it seemed that Apple was aimed at businesses, but now everyone, young, old, everywhere can be seen with an Iphone. We as a society anticipate the release of Apple Products every year and release dates of products can see people queueing up outside stores for hours, buying into Apple’s appeal. It can be said that the universal use of Apple has created somewhat unity across the world, seemingly maintain-ing social hierarchies. On the other hand, disrupting sales of leading retailer Microsoft, Apple has disrupted what was once a flourishing business.

I am a second year student and I study BA Graphic and Media Design. I study a well respected course which builds on the rich heritage of graphic communication and design. My study includes: social design, branding, typographic media and communication environments. My course is forward about addressing the growing need for designers to bring originality and divergent thinkers to analyse, identify and find some sort of answer to communication problems. This is debatable and has multiple interpretations.
